The beginning of September

September 1st - time flies when one is busy.  Since the 18th I have helped with a dehydrating workshop (learned that London broil makes pretty good jerky), spent a full day with a group of master food preservers working on canning tuna.  In 10 hours we canned 182 1/2 pints of tuna.

I have finished canning tuna for me this year (unless something major happens).  Finished canning applesauce from apples I was given.  It tastes so good.  Have some blackberries I need to decide what I'm going to do with.

But for today I really need to get cracking on the house - the realtor comes tomorrow afternoon to take inside pictures.  My cousin, John and I finished painting the guest bath last night.  The master bath won't be available for pictures because I haven't progressed far enough on the painting to let that be shown on the net.  The office probably won't be photographed either.  The guest room has to be finished because Ruth could be here in the next couple of days for an extended visit.

My cousin Joy should hopefully be home later today.  It seems incredible that last Friday she was having brain surgery to remove a tumor and could be home today.  The doctors at River Bend are really amazing.

Back to cleaning - dehydrating and canning for today.
